Putting Together My 2016 Demo Reel
So I put together this reel for something that had absolutely nothing to do with my website, but I ended up actually really liking it, so... now I am talking to you.
For those of you that don't know a demo reel is basically just that. A demo. You take your best shots, or photographs, or scenes, or highlights, or whatever, and you put them into one short video to show off all of your work.
After going through everything that I have shot, I decided on the video clips that went into the demo, cut them out of their original videos, and put them on my timeline. After that point I went on Audioblocks.com, picked out what song I was feelin' at that moment and through that on the timeline as well. From there, I just set markers on the audio track where the beat hit and was a reasonable place for the video to change to another shot.
So the result of that was.... this:
It actually turned out much better than I had planned. I had no idea how many shots I had that I actually thought were good. And not in a sense that I thought my videos were bad, because I love all of my videos, but in the sense that I didn't realize how many individual shots I really loved. I had always known that my videos as wholes were really good, but damn... the shots in this reel actually surprised me too. They gave me a pretty good smile thinking about when I had shot them originally!
Well that's pretty much it. Just wanted to give everyone a quick look at my demo reel for those that haven't seen it! Hope you enjoyed all the shots in here, and I hope this keeps everyone tied over until next week when I release a project I have been working on for a significant amount of time.
Till Next Time,
Jake Matthew Morrow
